MARINA KAPURO is a pop-rock singer of European class. Having a unique voice she is a rare example of so called universal singer. Born in St.Petersburg, Marina indicated musical ability at early age of three. At age of eight she entered the Ansemble of Pioneer’s Palace as a vocal soloist, where she studied for eight years. That became a special vocal conservatory for her where young Marina got a professional vocal school.

Being a schoolgirl, motivated by the “Beatles” and other English and American rock groups she continued her music career. She met Yury Berendyukov, known in Petersburg pop-musician and composer and together they created the first in Russia folk-rock group “Yabloko”(that means “Apple”). Marina became a vocal soloist of this group. MARINA KAPURO is a prize-winner of several national and international pop music contests and festivals. Her first international success came in Sweden, where she became the second-prize winner of the Baltic Song Contest in Karlshamn(1988).

As a pop singer MARINA KAPURO is internationally acclaimed. Her concert tours covered Poland, Germany, Estonia, Austria, Norway, India, Japan, USA. During her North American three month concert tour (1990) Marina and “Yabloko” made 56 concerts in 26 states. American mass media nicknamed her as “Russian Nightingale”. In 1993, being already a Honoured Artist, MARINA realized an original project- vocal solo in the “Sparrow Oratorium” of the renowned vanguard composer Sergey Kuryokhin, which became a popular Album in Europe.

Voice of MARINA KAPURO became a musical symbol of the Goodwill Games organized in Petersburg in 1994 by Ted Turner. Her performance of the “Hymn of Goodwill Games-94” (music by Yury Berendyukov, lyrics by Boris Bondarenko) at the closing ceremony was transmitted by TV companies to 112 countries of the world.

MARINA KAPURO also is known as a unique performer of ABBA repertoire. She successfully performed on ABBAfest-2004 in Brighton UK, devoted to the 30-years anniversary of ABBA victory on Eurovision Contest in 1974. And several years later MARINA and Yury Berendyukov created and successfully presented in Petersburg their fantastic original Russian Show “ABBAMANIA”.

2014 had become a great year for MARINA. She created and successfully presented in Petersburg her new show “Beatlomania”.

2016 was very important for MARINA - she recorded and released her first English Album “MATINEE”. That became a result of collaboration with the renowned British composer and music producer David Courtney. This Album was followed by the others: “SCANDILAND”(2018), “Cossack Songs”(2019), “Talyanochka”(2022).

At present time MARINA KAPURO recording two new albums: “NO WAR EVER” and “PETERSBURG”.

The end of the year of 2023 brought a great international success to Marina Kapuro, December, 2023 she become one of the Global Music Award winners (www.globalmusicawards.com) with the Silver Medal for the song "Cease Fire Now!" (music by Yury Berendyukov, lyrics by Boris Bondarenko and Yury Berendyukov)
